Zirconium diboride (ZrB2) has high melting point, high hardness, high stability and good electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, oxidation resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, so the composite ceramics made of zirconium diboride exhibit excellent comprehensive performance. And this makes zirconium diboride a very suitable candidate material for ultra-high temperature and zero-ablation materials in supersonic spacecraft and missile shells.
Our company focus on producing D50 1.0-3.0um (D10=1.0±0.2um, D50=1.5-1.8um, D90=3.0±0.2um, 1.0-3.0um≥80%) zirconium diboride ZrB2 powder materials for special purposes, with high purity, concentrated particle size distribution, good activity, good sintering quality and other characteristics. It is mainly used in the field of aerospace ultra-high temperature structural ceramics.
Application Example: A certain Aerospace Materials and Technology Research Institute used Huawei’s 1.0-30um zirconium diboride powder ZrB2 to produce radome components made of ZrB2/SiC ceramic matrix composites reinforced by carbon fibers. The material density reaches 98% TD, and the bending strength and the fracture toughness reaches 600MPa and 6.95MPa·m1/2 separately, and it has good oxidation resistance and mechanical properties.
